Lake Oswego/Portland Metro, Oregon — PlanB Consultancy International launched its new Engineering Division in response to a growing need for energy efficient and low maintenance facilities. Developing the Engineering Division was a natural extension of being a client advocate, explains managing partner, Ian Burns. “We saw how our clients were struggling with the pains of aging infrastructure, high energy usage, rising energy costs, poor indoor air quality, environmental compliance issues, and of course, constrained budgets. We knew we could bring added value.”
The department will be led by mechanical engineer and former Navy building commissioner, Daniel Tedrow. Tedrow is experienced with all aspects of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing including design, controls, facility operations, specialty energy systems, and systems commissioning. “Our initial focus is on retro-commissioning existing buildings through energy analysis and system optimization, cogeneration studies, energy audits, master energy planning and life cycle studies,” explains Tedrow. The group will also provide forensic engineering, facilities management training and design-build contracting for mechanical retrofits.
PlanB has unmatched expertise providing new building, existing building, and monitoring-based commissioning services for HVAC and control systems, plumbing, central plants and sustainable design. They manage just about every type of building and oversee a variety of large and small operations, from academic and military facilities, to hotels, data centers and fabrication plants.
